DEVELOPMENT PLAN
The Wheelchair Rugby League Development Plan (WRLDP) was launched in 2024 sponsored by Genista Energy with the ambitious aim of developing the club and the sport throughout Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.
Edinburgh Giants were established in 2023 following the Rugby League World Cup (RLWC21) that saw the mens, women's and wheelchair teams compete alongside each other for the first time ever, gaining a whole new audience who had never seen or heard about the sport Wheelchair Rugby League.
The club secured £14,800 in funding from the Createdby legacy fund that enabled us to purchase 8 sports specific wheelchairs to get started. Initially formed as a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) in May we were awarded Scottish charitable status and become a Scottish Incorporated Charitable Organisation (SCIO).
