The Management group has been recruited and the appointments bring a wealth of experience to the club.

After a busy few weeks the club has concluded it's recruitment activities for the Management Group and we are delighted with the strength, skills and experience that those appointed into their roles bring to the table.

“I am delighted with the management team we have recruited. The RLWC2021 World Cup raised the profile of Wheelchair Rugby League beyond all recognition and I firmly believe as a result of this we have attracted high calibre people who are keen to build upon that legacy and make the club a huge success.” - M.Gill - Chairman

Martyn Gill - Founder & Chairman

Martyn is the former England Wheelchair Rugby League Coach and successfully led them to the 2014 Home Nations and 2015 European crowns and 2017 World Cup finalists. He also coached the Leeds Rhinos Wheelchair Rugby League side from 2013 taking them from bottom of the league to Grand Finalist and Challenge Cup runners up in 2016.

Chris Chatten - Vice Chairman

Chris is an experienced Administrator within the game having held roles with the national governing body The Rugby Football League and Hunslet Hawks RLFC. In addition this he is a trailblazer within developing the game away from the traditional heartlands of Rugby League and notably founded Bath Rugby League in 2016 where the club continued to grow year upon year under his stewardship.

Mark Charlton - Treasurer

Mark is a qualified Accountant who currently works full-time within the sport for the The Rugby Football League. He fell in love with Rugby League whilst at University and was actively involved in all aspects of the game from playing to serving on the committee for Sheffield University Rugby League.

Hamish Douglas - Secretary

Hamish who like Mark fell in love with Rugby League whilst studying at the University of Sheffield also served on the committee but was also the Head Coach for the Sheffield Hawks RLFC women's team. After returning to Edinburgh after his studies his passion for Rugby League remained and he has been involved in the Scotland Rugby League X-League competition.

Rob Lowe - Welfare & Pathways Manager

Rob is a full time PE Teacher and Level 3 Rugby Union Coach and Educator but fell in love with Wheelchair Rugby League during the RLWC2021 World Cup. He has a wealth of experience around Safeguarding, Welfare and ensuring Pathways are open for player progression.

Fiona Donaldson - Operations Manager

Fiona has extensive experience of working within social enterprises, funding partners and building partnership relationships. This experience will help shape the future of the Giants as we look to identify and apply for funding grants to create a sustainable club, whilst building relationships with community partners.

The Management Group met for the first time on Wed 18th Jan to discuss the next stages of implementing the strategic plan and everyone is excited for the next stages as we gear up to launch the club.
