Wednesday 1st March 2023 saw the club hold their launch night evening and first ever training session and it was a GIANT success!
We introduced 10 people to Wheelchair Rugby League for the first time and had support on the evening in Super League player Ewan Clibbens who was on hand to show the team the basics and teach them a few tricks.
In addition to this we had representatives from Scotland Rugby League and Scottish Disability Sports in attendance who have been invaluable to the club with their support and guidance over the last 15 weeks which got us to the starting line.
Mikey Mair who was in attendance on the evening had this to say:
As someone who suffers from anxiety in situations that are new to me, I was made to feel comfortable and had an amazing time. I've now signed up as a player!
The Giants have now had 8 players register with the club which has created a great foundation to build upon as they go into regular weekly training sessions on Wednesday evenings at Pleasance Sports Complex.
