RHINO'S IN THE CAPITAL!

James Simpson MBE and Tom Halliwell OBE of the Leeds Rhinos Wheelchair Super League and Rugby League World Cup winners hosted a coaching camp for our developing team and club.

The relationship with our club founder Martyn Gill stems back over a decade and he used to coach the duo at both Leeds and England from 2013-2017.

Martyn had this to say "The fact that both James and Tom have given up their free time to come up to Edinburgh and coach our developing team is something that not only I, but the whole squad are grateful for. The Rhinos have been a dominate force in Wheelchair Rugby League for a number of years now, so being able to tap into that experience has been invaluable for our group".

The coaching session which was delivered over a full morning covered a range of skills and attacking options and got the players to really think about their game play.

Giants Captain and Scotland International Connor Blackmore commented "It has been a great morning, we have learnt a lot and certainly some take aways and quick wins that we can implement into our game".

The Giants who partnered with Leeds Rhinos wheelchair when they were formed in 2023 have already benefited from Q&A sessions and this just took things up a level as they got to experience the coaching and tips first hand.

The Giants will be looking to implement those lessons into their next game against Gravesend Dynamite on the 13th July 2024, 12pm KO at Pleasance Sports Complex.
